We are looking for a pricing analyst to join our Life Protection Unit (LPU) team, a global function providing guidance, oversight, and development advice for all Zurich’s life technical needs. The successful candidates will support a wider rollout of Experience Insights, to additional business units (BUs) and products.
Experience Insights investigates past claims and persistency, in our Life Protection business, to set appropriate assumptions for pricing future business. This technology enables LPU/BUs to perform their experience analysis using a modern Data Science (DS) platform, automate routine tasks, and develop more sophisticated analytics and greater collaboration with LPU. The platform is a key enabler for executing Zurich’s Life strategy.
Your role
As a Pricing Analyst, your main accountabilities will include:
- Working with BUs to understanding products, data, and methodology.
- Working in collaboration with actuaries and data scientists (LPU & BUs) to prepare data for ingestion and to validate transformed data/results.
- Supporting development of R code script to assist with data preparation and ingestion stages.
- Supporting LPU data scientists and Zurich’s Data & Business Insights (D&BI) team to align Azure tools with R code and to deploy new code into production.
- Support implementation of RMarkdown/Power BI reports to document the data outputs and results and to support BUs in creating local best estimate basis reports.
- Supporting BUs in building their predictive models through application of analytical techniques to develop distinctive risk insights that deliver improvements in business results.
- Identifying value adds through the implementation of the modelling and supporting BUs to deliver changes to their pricing models.
As a Pricing Analyst, your skills and experience will ideally include:
- Two or more years’ experience of working in an actuarial team, and experience working in data/analytics
- Knowledge of insurance products, pricing, and experience analysis, preferably in life insurance is desirable.
- Actuarial training is desirable through obtaining a level of qualification equivalent to CAA (Certified Actuarial Analyst) or demonstrate that you have equivalent skills and training through work experience.
- University education (Master's degree) in financial mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, quantitative methods, Computer Science or similar.
- Strong IT skills including R, Python, Excel, SQL and PowerBI, preference is for someone with R coding skills.
- English language –Upper intermediate (B2 or better), spoken and written
- Strong communicator who can document and explain technical material to a high standard.
- Interest in data research, predictive modelling, statistical analysis, data transformation and developing insights for use in business decisions
