Senior Business Performance Actuary

Join our strong Planning & Performance Management team (PPM) and take on the opportunity to work with leading Business Performance specialists on Group level and in Bratislava. You will work closely with Zurich North America Finance & Actuarial teams on financial reporting, performance monitoring and analysis within the Property and Casualty segment. Zurich North America is our biggest portfolio and key contributor to overall Zurich Group top- and bottom-line results.
This unique opportunity will allow you to build on your strong P&C business understanding and contribute to business steering by identifying performance gaps, eg. underwriting profitability or distribution productivity.
Along this journey Zurich will support you with quality internal training, combined with external certifications, eg. IFOA, CFA.

As a Senior Business Performance Actuary, your main tasks will involve: 

  • Modelling: Development of top-down financial models to accelerate business steering by enabling better understanding of financial implications from changes in business and economic drives
  • Analytical: Identify reasons for variances between actual and expected (forecasted or planned) KPIs, identify trends or other seasonal effects that will improve the quality of forecasting/planning processes
  • Reporting: Cooperate with local and Group Finance teams on delivery of Close, Forecast and Plan submissions as part of the Zurich regular financial reporting process 
  • Communication: Communicate complex financial results in a clear, concise manner to relevant stakeholders

Požiadavky na zamestnanca

As a Senior Business Performance Actuary, your skills and experience will ideally include: 

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Actuarial Science or Mathematics
  • 8+ years of experience in Actuarial Reserving, Pricing, Financial Planning and Reporting or Financial Accounting
  • Strong understanding of P&C Insurance fundamentals; financial and actuarial literacy is important
  • IFOA, CFA or other local Actuarial or Finance certification is an advantage
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, especially the ability to clearly explain outcomes of your work
  • Strong skills in task prioritization and time management
  • Strong data management, analytical and financial reporting skills
