Junior Actuarial Trainee
Are you interested in starting your career in actuarial science within a dynamic and supportive team?
Join our Commercial Insurance Actuarial team and gain hands-on experience in actuarial processes, data analysis, and reserving while working alongside experienced professionals. As a Junior Actuarial Trainee, you will have the opportunity to:
Actuarial & Reporting Support
- Support quarterly commercial insurance reporting for assigned business units.
- Assist in running standard actuarial processes, including data preparation, validation, and reconciliation.
- Support the calculation of technical reserves and prepare results and documentation for internal review.
Analysis & Modelling
- Perform basic statistical analyses and support actuarial modelling activities, such as development pattern projections, segmentation reviews or baseline assumption updates, under supervision.
- Compile, clean, and categorize data; verify assumptions, parameters, and inputs used in computations.
- Monitor and analyze model outputs and support interpretation of results for senior team members.
- Participate in the review, testing, and improvement of actuarial processes, tools, and systems.
- Identify data quality or process issues and escalate findings appropriately.
The ideal candidate should meet the following attributes:
- University student or recent graduate in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Basic understanding of insurance or actuarial concepts
- Comfortable using English in both written and spoken form
Additional Information
- Internship duration: at least 1 year part-time/internship program with the possibility of prolongation
- Location(s): Bratislava office
- Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours per week, possibility to align working hours with university schedule
- Wage: 8 EUR/hour
